The Early Start Program is a child-directed, learn through play program for children from 1 to 5 years old.

The Early Start Program is a licensed and accredited children’s program that supports healthy early childhood development.  Early Childhood Educators will support your child’s learning as they play in a safe and nurturing environment. The Program also offers health and dental services for children and provides family support services. While children are in program, parents can go to parent education workshops, meet with their Family Support Worker, explore the community, go to personal appointments or re-energize. All families who have a child registered in the Early Start Program are offered Family Support Services.

HEAD START PROGRAM

Do you want your child to increase their skills and make a successful transition into kindergarten?

The Head Start Program is a child-focused, learn through play program for children 3 1/2 – 5 years old.

Head Start ProgramThe overall goals are to increase children’s social, emotional, cognitive, creative, gross and fine motor skills, and support healthy early childhood development.

The Program also offers health and dental services for children.  All families who have a child registered in the Head Start Program also receive Family Support Services.

The Head Start Program is offered at two different locations:

  • Norwood Child and Family Resource Centre, 9516 – 114 Avenue, Edmonton; and
    Rundle School, 11005 – 34 Street, Edmonton

Classes operate Tuesday – Friday from September to August

AM class: 9:30 pm – 12:15 pm

PM class: 1:15 pm – 4:00 pm

Stay and Play

The FREE indoor play space is for families with children 0-6 years old. Enjoy playtime with your children and meet new friends. Toys, activities and nutritional snacks are provided.


One is Fun, Time for Two

Toddlers’ time at Norwood! Come and meet other toddlers and parents and enjoy songs, rhymes, stories, movement and activities.

Children aged 1-2 years. Encourage and support your child’s learning through play and fun.
